This week at Nursery

Hi everyone!

What a busy week we have had at nursery. This week – did you know we had some tadpoles outside – we used our eyes for good looking and some magnifying glasses to look at them swimming about. They move very fast and are really little. In maths we have been looking at measuring things – are they big, gigantic, teeny tiny, medium, small or minuscule?  We used our rulers to measure our height, our shoe length and anything we can find about the classroom, and put  three things in size order. In Child Initiated Learning  we had lots of fun building with blocks outside and making potions inside with playdough, cinnamon, and cheerios – what messy fun it was!

In Literacy, we have read ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?’ and in our groups we have written story maps retelling the story and thinking of different things we have seen using some excellent describing words.

Finally on Friday, in recognition of Captain Tom’s Birthday, we sat quietly on the carpet, not talking,  for 101 seconds!! How amazing was that – The children who are with us all day – did it twice!!

Until we see each other on Tuesday, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care,  stay safe and enjoy the long weekend!
