Musical challenge – Can you recognise the reggae and folk songs?

Hello everyone,

There are some fun songs to listen to this week that will help us with our counting and remembering the names of the dinosaurs.  The first song is in English and in Spanish.  Try singing the Spanish song.  I love the way the words feel in my mouth when I say them, it’s lots of fun.

We’re also listening to Jazz this half term and here are a few songs by very famous Jazz artists.  Ella Fitzgerald (A Tisket, a Tasket, One Note Samba for scat), Duke Ellington (Ain’t Got that Swing)  and Miles Davis (So What, Blue in Green).  Maybe you’ve heard these songs before?  Which ones do you like and why?  Can you  recognise the instruments that are being played?

The second song is a list of the Top 10 Dinosaur songs.  They’re songs are in different styles or genres.  Listen to the them all.  Can you recognise the genres?  There are reggae and a folk style songs in the playlist.  Can you recognise the different styles?  Answers on an email please!  We’d also like to know which tunes were your favourites.

Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care, stay safe,
