Phonics Fun – Noisy Neighbour

Hello everyone,

Today’s phonics session is a fun listening game called Noisy Neighbour.  It will really hone their listening skills so that they can differentiate between sounds.

How to play- The children need to pretend to sleep (eyes closed).  Their very noisy neighbour is making sounds and noises they need to identify.  There’s a chant too “Noisy neighbour, noisy neighbour, please be quiet!   We’re trying to sleep.”  If you’ve got Alexa or Siri you could use that to help with noises or you could make them yourselves (great game for somewhat younger/older siblings). We intentionally choose things you’re likely to have at home.

Try this Jolly Phonics Phase 1 if you’d like to play some more.

Have fun and enjoy!

Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care, stay safe,

Mrs Howe
