It’s Wednesday and we are outside again. Can you find the sounds we’ve been learning this week? Grab a few resources and your coats and get outside for our fun phonic adventure!
Don’t worry about the writing – you can use the dirt, chalk, sticks or stones to form the shapes of the letters.
How to play- ‘Write’ the sounds/letters on cards/paper or stones. Alternatively, you could use sticks/stones/branches/flowers to make the sounds/letters and children can find them in your garden or woods. You could gather things that you find in the woods such as ssss stones or sticks or llll leaves or lichen for example. You’ll have your own sound box ready for you or the children to access! Hide the letters around the woods/garden/park. You can shout out a sound and they have to find the sound you’ve shouted. You can extend their learning by asking them to find the letter that matches a dulplicate card you hold. Perhaps you could hide the letters in their name for them to find? Could they write the sounds using chalk, stones, sticks, etc?
A few tips – view it a few times, you’ll notice different things each time. Remember to use lower case letters except at the beginning of their names.
Have fun and enjoy!
Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.
Take care, stay safe,
