This week in Maths we have been learning all about time.
We played ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’ which was lots of fun!
Then we made our own clocks and used them to support us in reading o’clock and half past times. We had to make sure the minute hand was longer than the hour hand…we made them in different colours too to make them stand out even more.
We learnt how many seconds are in a minute, how many minutes are in an hour and how many hours are in a day.
How to support your child’s learning at home:
- Encourage your child to read the time when carrying out daily tasks e.g. What time you wake up, have breakfast, leave for school, get home from school, go to swimming lessons, have dinner etc.
- Play ‘What’e the time Mr Wolf’ using a clock to show the times being called out during the game
- Make your own model clocks at home thinking carefully about the position of each of the numbers
