This week’s story is Tyrannosaurus Drip by Julia Donaldson. It fits in well with our Superhero theme on Mindful Monday. Do you think T-Drip could qualify as a Superhero? Why or why not? Discuss the different personalities of the dinosaurs. Which dinosaur would you rather be? It’s very important to use words to communicate how we’re feeling. Extending your child’s vocabulary is essential to give them the tools they need to express themselves.
You could build habitats (see links below). As I was walking on a street I passed the first two images. Someone had built a little small world dinosaur scene on the pavement. I thought one image was a perfect example of camouflage (when animals (in particular) hide or disguise themselves so well they blend into the background and make them hard for predators to find). I walked straight past it and it was only because I noticed the dinosaur with the hat on that I spotted the scary T-Rex! Could you camouflage your dinosaurs in your habitat? Or maybe you could camouflage yourselves so you blend into the background in the livingroom. You’ll have to be very still and quiet too otherwise someone might find you from the sounds you’re making. How long can you stay camouflaged before your big sisters or brothers find you?!
Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.
Take care, stay safe,
