We know that starting School is a very big step – for parents and children alike!
We are delighted that you are going to be joining us and would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Merry Hill community.
Your child is about to start a new and exciting chapter in their education and we are aware it can be an anxious time, so we endeavour to make the transition as seamless as possible for both your child as well as yourself!
When your son/daughter starts school, there are certain documents that need completing, all these documents can be found in the relevant new starter forms boxes below i.e. Nursery or Reception – Year 2. The deadline for completing the documents is 9am on Friday 28th June.

In addition we will require a copy of your child’s birth certificate and a proof of your address.
Uniform can be purchased at any high street store but should you intend to buy uniform from our school supplier, Mapac, where in additional to all your uniform needs, you can get polo-shirts, jumpers and cardigans with our school logo, Mapac recommend you order before 31st July to guarantee delivery for the start of September.

We would kindly ask that everyone completes and returns the school lunch menu. Even if your child would like a packed lunch from home, please use the tick box on the form. Children must choose either to have a packed lunch from home or a school meal – they cannot do both. If your child only eats Halal food we are able to offer a Halal option on Wednesdays so please contact the school office to register your interest.
Please note Nursery children will only need to complete the school lunch form, if your child has additional hours, and you have arranged with the office for your child to have lunch.
If your child has an allergy or a special dietary requirement and you would like them to have a school meal you must first register this with our catering provider – Herts Catering. Please visit https://hcl.co.uk/allergy-overview before ordering school meals.
