Lion class visited Reveley Lodge

Lion class were very excited to go on their first school trip yesterday!

We visited Reveley Lodge and travelled back in time to live like Victorian children did. As a part of our Time Travellers topic, we learnt all about Victorian toys, including the differences between life ‘then’ in the ‘oldendays’ and ‘now’ in modern times.

First the children dressed up in traditional Victorian dresses and waistcoats. We were quickly sent to work washing clothes using a dolly and mangle.

Next the children stepped inside a Victorian classroom, writing their sentences on traditional slate boards. They even had a visit from the school inspector!

Finally it was time for the children to relax after all their hard work. We sat down and were treated to yummy bread and jam, followed by a warm cup of tea and a delicious Victoria sponge!

We are looking forward to writing a recount of our trip and sharing this with another class at school.

We would like to say a big thank you to the fantastic team at Reveley Lodge and to our parent helpers!
