In our maths lessons this week, we started learning about the different parts of 5 in a fun and engaging way. We used the “5 Little Speckled Frogs” rhyme to help us count, add, and take away. Singing the rhyme helped us see how numbers change as the frogs jumped into the pond but the total still stays the same. We had lots of fun learning while singing together.

In literacy this week, we made porridge as part of our Goldilocks and the Three Bears topic. We really enjoyed stirring and tasting the porridge, just like in the story and choosing which our favourite topping is. While we were in the process of making it, we used words and phrases from the book to describe what we were doing, such as “too hot,” “too cold,” and “just right.” It was a fun and tasty way to bring the story to life!

How you can help at home:
- Sing 5 little frogs at home
- Can your child find different parts of 5 at home? e.g.) 3 knifes and 2 forks.
- Can they re-tell the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears.
