In reception this week we have been learning ” how to link the numeral with its cardinal number value”. (Development Matters 2021)
We have been focusing on the numbers 9 and 0 and practising how to write them. We have used these little rhymes to help us:
9 – Make a loop and then a line, that’s the way we make a nine.
0 – Around and around and around we go, when we get home we have a zero.
We have practised our numbers, counted out objects and made counting wands to help us.
How you can help at home:
Use a pen or stick at home to count each object, action or sound once and only once and record your findings.
