This week in Nursery

This week in PE we went to the hall for gymnastics. We listened very carefully to the instructions and watched as the use of all apparatus was modelled to us. We had to remember how to stay safe as well whilst learning to travel in different ways. Some of us slithered along the benches on our tummies, some of us hopped around the cones and some of us were even brave enough to jump off the tall table!

Literacy

We have continued our learning from ‘The Enormous Turnip’ story this week. We have been creating our own stick puppets, making characters from play dough and even retelling our own version of the story! Some of us even used our brilliant knowledge of phonics to have a go at writing the initial sounds for some of the characters from the story! Our grown ups are very proud of us!

Curiosity!

We found this interesting object in our Nursery garden this week. It has prompted lots of discussion amongst us all and we have been asking lots of questions about it. Maybe you can discuss it at home some more!

Phonics

Our sound of the week is:

How you can help at home:

* Remind your children of the phonic sounds we have learnt so far

* Play I Spy using words that start with the sounds we have taught

* Talk to your child about the environment around them and encourage them to ask questions and be curious!

* Ask your child to retell the story of The Enormous Turnip. Can you make up your own version at home together?

* Remember to send your child into school wearing sun cream everyday, along with a hat and coat! The British weather is very unpredictable!
