This week in Year 2 we have been working hard to write our own Tinga Tinga tales.
We began the unit by all learning a myth called ‘Why Elephant has a Trunk’. We looked at the story to identify its features and practised using some of them, such as dialogue and expanded noun phrases.
Then we moved on to making up a new class story. Bear class made up a story called ‘Why Bear has a Short Tail’ and Giraffes was called ‘Why Giraffe has a long neck’.
Finally we each made up our own Tinga Tinga tales. First we planned them using a story map, then we started writing them. We can’t wait to finish writing our stories on Tuesday.
