This week in Maths, Year 1 have been learning about different measures. Both classes came together to discuss and compare the volume and capacity of water. We started by using some key vocabulary such as ‘full’, ‘less than’, ‘more than’ and ’empty’.
Then we split off into groups and compared the same volume of water (one cup of water) in different shaped containers. We discussed how some containers appeared to have more water than others!
How you can help at home:
Look through your kitchen cupboards. Do you notice any shopping items that have the ‘ml’ measurement of liquid on them? If you do, order them from smallest to biggest number!
