Rainforests

In Geography this half term we have been learning about rainforests.

We found out that rainforests are found near the equator and that they are hot, wet and humid places. The biggest rainforest is the Amazon rainforest. We used atlases to identify the locations of the rainforests on a world map.

This week we have been learning about the different layers of the rainforests and the animals that live there. We worked hard to make our own rainforest pictures.

How to help at home

  • Have a look at a map or atlas – can you locate any places you know?
  • Visit the library and look for some books about rainforests, spend time reading them with your family
  • Next week we will be using compass directions to describe the position of objects. Can you use compass directions to direct a member of your family from one place in your house to another?
