This week we have put all of our knowledge of recounts to work. We have started to complete our hot tasks. Hot tasks showcase our understanding of the genre of writing we have been learning about; the children work hard to implement all of the success criteria from that style of writing. We have been particularly focusing on using time connectives (first, next, then, after that and finally) and conjunctions (and, but, because, so) . Here are some great examples of learning in Year 1.
How you can help at home:
– Writing sentences with time connectives ( first, then, next, after that and finally).
– Practise writing on lined paper with the correct ascenders and descenders.
– Consistently using full stops, capital letters and finger spaces when writing at home.
