St Davids Day

We are learning to, “Recognise that people have different beliefs and celebrate special times in different ways,” (Development Matters 2021). On the 1st March St David’s Day is celebrated by Welsh families. We are very lucky to have some Welsh families in Reception and some very kind Daddies who were happy to come and talk to us about how they celebrate the day.

We were also shown some special family artefacts by one of the Reception children.

We learned to say some welsh words, colours and numbers, found Wales on a map of The United Kingdom and learned about the special welsh clothes some children in Wales wear on this day.

Thank you very much to our speakers and a big thank you for the Welsh Cakes. Delicious!!
