This week in Nursery

Hi Everyone!

This week we have been very busy remembering to say please and thank you.  There have been a lot of children on the rainbow and even a few in the pot of gold!

We’ve been doing lots of counting this week (and every week).  We have really gotten into the ‘swing’ of active maths and particularly enjoy doing the same amount of lion roars as our number of the week (2).  Children are very good at saying numbers to 10 and now we are  beginning to understand how to match the amount to the numeral.

We’ve also been very busy sticking a variety of media.  Can you guess what we’ve made?  We discussed parts of our bodies, including what certain bones are called such as our spine, ribs and skull.  Singing Head, shoulders, knees and toes would be lots of fun to do at home.  Maybe you could change the lyrics to skull, ribs and spine?!

We’ve had lots of adventures in the forest this week too; going on listening walks, opening up our ears to hear lots of different sounds and identifying them.  Children were very good at closing their eyes, listening for sounds like a knock on the door, toilets flushing, phones ringing, the hoover, etc.  Perhaps you could play a similar game at home and when you’re walking?

Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care, stay safe and  see you soon!
