Merry Hill and Ashfield joined on Friday to celebrate the platinum jubilee. The sun was shining brightly, and everyone was in positive spirits!
We began our day by welcoming year 4 to our playground, dressed in red, white, and blue. Traditional British games such as an egg and spoon race, naughts and crosses, and musical statues were played to commemorate the occasion. It was wonderful to see everyone engaged in conversation and making new friendships.
Year 1 walked down to Ashfield and visited their classroom later in the day. We united to try to make the world’s longest paper chain! Then we read a story and used chalk to make our own royal crowns.
Everyone enjoyed a wonderful day of celebration!
