God save the King!

This week in Nursery we had the huge task of getting ready for the King’s coronation! I must say we worked incredibly hard to make sure we had everything perfect for the big day.

We started off this week by making decorations for the class.  We used different media to make our bunting. First we used marbles to paint the colours of the Union Jack, then we coloured in pictures of the flag and finally we made a HUGE paper chain.

As there was lots of talk in class about crowns, we used our maths knowledge to match the number of gems to the correct crowns and we used the 3D shapes in class to build our own castles.

Later we looked at the invitations sent out by the King and we tried to make our own invitations for the party. Then we wrote our very special shopping lists to make sure we had everything we needed for the big feast.

When the big day finally arrived, we worked very hard to make our party foods.  Everyone had a great time trying new things and having a boogie to end the fabulous celebrations.

How you can help at home:

Here is a link to a song we have been learning  in class… a word of warning~ you will be singing it for weeks after hearing it once!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the celebrations wherever you might be.

Lots of love,

The Nursery team xxx
