This week in Nursery . . .

Hello everyone!

This week in Nursery we have been learning all about Chinese New Year. Have you watched the videos on the blog about how people celebrate? We have made lanterns, dragons, had a go at writing ‘Happy New Year’ in Mandarin and tried using chopsticks with super long noodles! The children ( and the adults!) even had a go at some dragon dancing – what fun!

Can you see that when we were playing with the noodles we looked at different lengths –  some noodles were very long and some were teeny tiny! You could try this at home with some cooked spaghetti and some tweezers – great for working on our fine motor skills and for describing length!

Outside we have been building castles, playing with dinosaurs, riding our bikes and climbing on the climbing frame to avoid the lava! We also had to find some buried treasure outside – lots of gold coins were hidden under rice  and we had so much messy fun trying to find them all.

Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care and stay safe,

Mrs Howe, Mrs Bain, Mrs Mitzman,  Mrs Hill and Mrs Bence
