This week in nursery. . . .

Hello Everyone!

We’ve been buzzing in Nursery this week bzzzzzzzzzzz! We have been learning all about bees. Mrs Bence came to visit us in a special outfit and talked to us about how she looks after her bees. We have also been able to taste some delicious honey at snack time on bread.  We have been looking at the stripes on bees and also using the stripes we cut out to weave in and out to make bee patterns, to make patterns on paper and even adding  pen lines to pasta shells to make our very own mini bees!

As part of our Mini Beasts focus we have been looking at swirly spiral patterns from a snails shell and made swirly shell patterns with pompoms during Fiddly Finger Time.  As an art and topic link up we have been making Degas inspired backgrounds with chalks with mini beast patterns drawn over the top.  We loved seeing the results!

Did you here? This week we had nine butterflies emerge from their cocoons we had given them some special water and fruit and once they had opened their wings we let them go up in the forest. Some of them didn’t fly too far from base camp so we left the butterflies exploring the woods. We wonder how far they have flown this week so far?

Until next time, do good looking for adventures, clean your ears out for good listening and turn your noggins (brains) on for good learning.

Take care, stay safe and have a lovely half term!
