This half term in art we have been learning about the artist Edward Tingatinga. He is a Tanzanian painter who specialises in abstract animals. Lots of us love the ‘Tingatinga tales’ episodes!
We took our learning outside this afternoon during mini explorers and made our own natural paint.
Firstly we needed to create the paint! So we mixed mud and water together.
Then we got creative, inspired by Edward Tingatinga’s abstract style. We decorated a bee template, following on from our assembly on Monday all about honey bees.
Finally we began decorating the trees around us.
How you can help at home:
Make your own mud paint and decorate your garden or local park. Create different patterns and designs.
